- Joanne has assisted in defending a major corporate client against a number of claims, including wrongful dismissal; sex discrimination; race discrimination; and procedural unfairness in redundancy situations. She has drafted detailed witness statements; Notices of Appearance; Originating Applications and attended Tribunals, both conducting interlocutory applications and sitting behind counsel.
- She assisted in a high value claim for race and disability discrimination. The hearing also included a personal injury claim for psychological damage.
Non Contentious
- Extensive research on areas of employment law including restrictive covenants.
- Corporate support work, due diligence relating to the Seller’s company employment contracts.
- Joanne is preparing a presentation about the Employment Act 2002 to a client’s HR team.
- She advises clients on various aspects of employment law issues including maternity entitlements; Disability Discrimination Act requirements of employers; grievance procedures; Working Time Regulations; constructive dismissals; and minimum wage.
