The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a junior solicitor to join the legal team and report to and support the General Counsel and Company Secretary with a wide breadth of work, both in the UK and internationally. As part of a small legal team working within a FTSE 250 business the role will be varied and challenging. Typical work you will be involved with includes:

- advising on and drafting a variety of general commercial agreements including sponsorship, supply, distribution, confidentiality and IT contracts;
- day to day legal support across the business including advising on marketing, social media, e-commerce and data protection matters;
- managing commercial disputes;
- drafting and negotiating brand licenses, protecting brands and managing the JD Group IP portfolio;
- assisting on, devising and implementing training and compliance programmes;
- assisting the GC/Company Secretary on corporate projects.

The Person

It is envisaged that the Legal Counsel will have c.0-2 years' PQE and a strong commercial contracts skill-set. You will have gained this experience within a leading private practice law or in-house legal team. In addition, international experience would be advantageous, and existing in-house experience is preferable.

You will have experience of providing proactive, commercial legal advice, be comfortable working independently and be willing to develop and expand your skill set. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a sense of humour and a 'can do ' attitude are also must haves.

If you feel you have the skills, ability and drive to undertake a role of this nature please contact our exclusively retained consultants Mark Levine and Craig Wilson at BCL Legal.

All direct and third party applications will be forwarded to BCL Legal for consideration.
