Description

Corporate Lawyer

This global law firm has an outstanding reputation for executing complex and high level transactional work. With a network of corporate lawyers and specialist teams in offices around the world, this is a unique opportunity to provide high quality and specialised support to the practice, primarily in the area of M&A due diligence.

The firm's cross-border corporate practice spans multiple jurisdictions, and the team handles complex global M&A transactions of significant value, usually around the billion pound mark. Manchester is an important hub for the firm's global operations and the addition of a small team who will provide specialised assistance for due diligence on M&A deals further builds on the firm's support infrastructure in the city. As a corporate transaction lawyer in the Manchester team, you will have responsibility for reviewing and analysing documents for both UK and US led transactions and drafting client reports, a very different opportunity to anything currently in the local Manchester market.

You will work primarily on M&A and private equity due diligence, using best-in-class technology and communications tools to assist in the due diligence review and reporting process. As such we are looking for people who are keen to embrace new technology and develop innovative ways of working that will challenge the traditional model and create highly sophisticated methods. You will be working with technology and process professionals to ensure that you have the technological resources and support needed to fulfil your responsibilities.

Corporate lawyers will focus on review of commercial contracts, license agreements and real estate leases - a wide breadth of subject matters that will enable a talented lawyer to diversify his/her role. By identifying change of control triggers, other contract based red flags and preparing a thorough analysis, you will play an invaluable role to the corporate team globally and contribute to premier and newsworthy M&A transactions.

This is an incredible role for a corporate lawyer in Manchester looking for a step up in complexity of projects and the ability to work on global transactions. There will be full engagement from partners, training and support, as well as being part of new team in a growing office. This is a unique opportunity and is a very exciting chance to be part of an innovative project at a firm that prides itself on a collegiate culture above all else. It should be noted that this opportunity will require some early evening work due to time differences, but you will work a standard working week and will benefit from regular hours without the erratic demands posed when dealing with transactions.

To be considered, you should have corporate due diligence experience, but also a positive and team-oriented attitude. If you are enthusiastic and eager to join a new project at the outset, working with like-minded individuals working to exceed expectations, this is an outstanding opportunity. Hard work will be expected and highly valued. You will also receive a generous salary and benefits package that will compare very favourably with regional levels.
