A household name and global leader in the field of electronics, based in Surrey, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their Anti-Trust team.
As part of the European Office legal team you will be directly involved in the provision of prompt, detailed and reasoned Legal Counsel - anti-trust advice on matters spanning a broad spectrum of anti-trust matters. Specifically, the role will include: (i) advising on day to day anti-trust issues arising in relation to commercial contracts and key business initiatives within the Europe Office for all subsidiaries; ii) drafting and maintaining guidelines and training materials for within the European Office and all subsidiaries; (iii) supporting with the management of investigations at a pan-European level and also on a national basis, including supporting the management and review of 'Requests for Information' from authorities in connection with such investigations and producing responses to the same; (iv) reviewing Requests for Information' from anti-trust authorities in connection with European merger control and assisting with producing responses to the same; (v) assisting with competition law litigation (both defensive and offensive).
The Legal Counsel - anti-trust person must be highly effective communicators and be able to explain complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner. You must be committed to working within an "in-house" legal environment and must be motivated to overcome the anti-trust challenges that a global consumer products brand faces. You must also be culturally aware, pragmatic and flexible. Finally, you must be able to work and communicate with, influence and provide guidance to, individuals at all levels of the organisation.
The Legal Counsel - anti-trust must have a qualifying law degree and several years' experience of working on anti-trust matters (including supporting on competition law investigations, merger control process and litigation) either from working at a top competition law practice or a major corporate. Experience of working with and on behalf of multi-national firms is desirable. In-house experience of advising on anti-trust matters, particularly in assisting the business in dealing with regulatory authorities, is highly desirable.
