In-house Regulatory Compliance Solicitor
We are delighted to be working with this 'big six' top tier firm in Leeds to recruit an in-house regulatory compliance solicitor in this key role to work closely with their Director of Risk on a range of regulatory compliance matters, including data protection, money laundering and bribery.
What they offer
This Leeds top tier offers a highly competitive commercial salary and an excellent top tier range of benefits is on offer, as well as agile working as standard.
The Role in Detail
With changes to various legislation, regulations and enforceability deadlines, such as the Criminal Finances Act, the insurance distribution directive, the new money laundering regulations and the GDPR, the small in-house regulatory compliance team is very busy.
Working as a number two in the team, in close alliance with the Director, you will get involved in -
· business-as-usual risk and compliance advisory work for the business
· a range of interesting projects around GDPR, ePrivacy, money laundering and bribery.
· design and delivery of in-house training around these areas, promoting a culture of compliance.
· Regulatory aspects of client and supplier contracts
What they're looking for
They are looking for a solicitor, based in Leeds or keen to move to the area, with around 4 years' PQE to join the team. GDPR and data protection is a large focus of the role, so successful candidates will definitely need this string to their bow please. Additional experience across ePrivacy, money laundering and bribery would be very useful, as would a working knowledge of and drafting experience in commercial contracts.
A strong regulatory background will assist greatly in your being the first point of contact in the firm to answer a wide range of queries relating to the interpretation of relevant legislation & regulation, and the firm's policies on these responsibilities.
This is an entirely internal-facing role, so would suit someone looking for an in-house regulatory role, where they can work closely with the business taking on a key operational and strategic role.
