Introducing the event was Wendy Backhouse Senior Lecturer in Law at UCLAN. The presentation was aimed at assisting graduating students and guiding them on the best course of action to get the job they desire. Vicky covered topics such as; Setting Objectives, Ensuring your CV stands out, CV /Application faux pas, Interview preparation & Vicky’s much praised “Top Tips”.
Vicky also highlighted the importance of being able to demonstrate “commercial awareness” on paper and why employers are now focussing on this and being a “well rounded” individual. Another keen area of discussion was having the insight to predict areas that will be in demand when students graduate.
Following the event Stephanie Jones, Senior Lecturer and MLaw Course Leader – University of Central Lancashire commented “I just wanted to say that we have had really positive feedback following your talk last week. The students have really benefited from what you have told them so many, many thanks. It would be great if we could make this a regular fixture!”
