The Birmingham office of BCL Legal has been appointed by St Andrew’s Healthcare – the UKs leading provider of specialist residential mental healthcare – to source and secure it a new legal director. The new instruction follows a number of other major briefs the in-house team has worked on over recent times, including roles for The Duchy of Lancaster, Boots and AstraZeneca PLC.
Headquartered in Northampton, St Andrew’s Healthcare is an organisation with charity and company status. It is based in a unique 120 acre heritage site and has a further three sites, providing quality care for over 1,000 patients. Unlike traditional independent providers, its has no shareholders and as a charity it is in the unique position that it can reinvest its surpluses into cutting-edge specialist services and state-of-the-art facilities. This has helped it develop a competitive edge which in turn has allowed it to expand and double turnover in recent years to over £150 million per annum.
The legal director position will include advising on procurement issues, legal areas to facilitate growth within the business and working closely with the HR department.
Victoria Moore – senior consultant within BCL Legal’s in-house department – said; ‘St Andrew’s Healthcare is a forward thinking and dynamic organisation so we are thrilled to be working with them. This is an exciting role so the challenge is now on for us to find the very best candidate.’
