BCL Legal is getting ready to open the champagne as it approaches its 10th anniversary. The business was established in 2003 by directors James Batt, Mark Levine & Vicky Clark and since then, it has grown to become one of the UK’s leading legal recruitment consultancies with a network of offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol and Reading.
Throughout its evolution, the BCL Legal team has been committed to doing things differently and is constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s traditionally expected of a recruitment business. This determination and drive comes from the top and has resulted in a whole host of initiatives and launches that are too numerous to mention; from the birth of The Brief – its monthly e-zine that now has a circulation of 60,000 to the establishment of BCL Graduates – its dedicated service that aims to help talented graduates take their first step on their legal career journey.
The business has also invested heavily into its marketing and online activities including a major rebrand and website re-launch in 2011.
James Batt – managing director – said: “Hitting the 10 year mark is a great achievement and we’re all extremely proud of what we’ve built up. I’m often asked why the business has continued to grow even though the economy has been so tough in recent years but my answer is simple… it’s based on three key factors: long term relationships, consultative partnerships and trust.
He added: We are also committed to providing ongoing and tangible value to our clients and candidates through a variety of proactive partnering initiatives such as seminars, networking events and commissioning bespoke surveys and research projects that actually mean something. We also tirelessly search for the right people who share our vision and I’m pleased to say we’ve now got the strongest team in place that we’ve ever had in our history.
James concluded: The last 10 years has been a rollercoaster ride but we’re ready to do even better so watch this space!”
