BCL Legal grows London team with two new appointments

Just four months after its opening, BCL Legal has appointed two new members of full time staff to its London office; Keith Miles has joined as a managing associate and will be working in the private practice division focusing on City insurance firms, whilst Pepita Ruiz-Irvine is now the London team assistant.

Keith has 20 years of recruitment experience and joins BCL Legal from Longbridge Law where he advised on clinical negligence and personal injury roles. Keith initially trained as a lawyer in the National Health Service before spending ten years as director of Action for Victims of Medical Accidents – the national medico-legal charity. He was also the editor of the UK’s first medico-legal journal where he wrote extensively on the subject and he was instrumental in the development of this sector of the Law.

Pepita – the second new member of the team – provides support to the London office; both in recruitment and finance administration. Her work has an emphasis on looking after clients who recruit temporary staff as well as candidates seeking temporary working assignments.

The London office is headed up by James Batt – managing director of BCL Legal – who divides his time between the firm’s regional offices and London, whilst Matthew Porter and Raj Sidhu both focus on interim and fixed term contract roles in private practice. In addition, Mark Levine – head of BCL Legal’s in-house team, Craig Wilson – senior in-house associate, and James Brewster – who specialises in the placement of insurance solicitors – also have desks at the office.

James Batt commented: “Since we opened our permanent base in London the team has really solidified its presence in the City. The time was therefore right for us to recruit and Keith brings a wealth of experience. Our focus is now on continuing to grow our offering for both clients and candidates in the private practice and in-house markets.”
