Manchester headquartered BCL Legal – one of the leading legal recruitment consultancies outside London – which also has offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol and Reading – has expanded its already successful temporary contract department with the appointment of Chika Okeke as the firm’s new trainee consultant.
Chika will be working proactively with BCL Legal’s law firm clients and lawyer candidates to provide flexible and innovative interim solutions. Chika, a recent law graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University, joins BCL at an exciting time. The firm has seen a significant rise in demand for temporary legal workers at all levels from both in-house and private practice clients during the first half of 2010 with the senior team predicting a further 20% increase this year.
Catherine Hughes, the temporary team’s senior manager commented; ‘The rise in demand for temporary legal professionals is a growing trend as firms and companies respond to the pressures they are under. We know this will continue to be the case for a long while yet so it’s great to have such a talented and proactive new member of the team.’
Chika said of her appointment; ‘It was a big decision to not pursue a career as a lawyer but I know that I have the drive and determination to succeed at a company like BCL Legal. It’s a market leader in the recruitment sector and I have always been impressed by its credible reputation and focus on professionalism.’
