BCL Legal Sponsored Merseyside JLD Ball Raises £900 for Claire House Charity.

BCL Legal sponsored the drinks reception at this year’s Merseyside Junior Lawyers’ Division Ball which took place at The Hard Days Night Hotel on Saturday 18th April. The black tie charity ball attracted over 100 of the area’s best young legal talent and was in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice. Headline sponsor on the night was The University of Law.

A charity raffle was staged which included prizes donated from both national and local companies. A cheque for £900 was presented to the charity on the night.

The event had a Great Gatsby theme so attendees were transported back to the roaring ‘20s and were treated to a cocktail drinks reception courtesy of BCL Legal, three course meal and a live modern jazz band.

Mary Nowell – managing associate in BCL Legal’s North West private practice division – said: “The MJLD Ball is always a great event so we were delighted to sponsor it once again. Everyone had a fantastic time and it was an opportunity to celebrate Merseyside’s young and talented legal community.”

Richard Burrows – social & sponsorship representative at the MJLD and trainee solicitor at Weightmans – added: “The event was a real success and raising £900 for such a great charity was the icing on the cake.”
