BCL Legal – the Birmingham based legal recruitment firm – last week sponsored the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors’ Society (BTSS) Reps’ Night which was as an informal networking event for the organisation’s representatives and recently elected new committee who are all based in the region.
The event, which took place at All Bar One, attracted many of the West Midlands’ best young legal talent and also celebrated BCL Legal’s ongoing sponsorship agreement which will run for the rest of 2013 and into 2014.
The BTSS is an organisation made up of over 500 trainee solicitors, paralegals, newly qualified solicitors and post-graduate law students from across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Originally an off-shoot of the Birmingham Law Society, each month the BTSS hosts a range of social, sporting, cultural and charitable events with the aim of bringing young lawyers together and raising their profile across the city and beyond. It assists its members in forging links with other professionals through its relationships with the Birmingham Law Society, the Junior Lawyers Division, Birmingham Future, Birmingham Forward, the Accountants’ Group and RICS, to name a few.
James Brewster, manager at BCL Legal Birmingham, said: “BCL Legal is committed to supporting the BTSS and its work, so the Reps’ Night was a great opportunity for us to really get to know the new committee and for its members to mingle and network. The next 12 months will be an exciting time for the organisation and we – as a business – are really delighted to be involved.”
