BCL Legal to bring Sir Clive Woodward to Manchester for unique event

BCL Legal is holding a free event for senior lawyers on 20th April that will see Sir Clive Woodward – England’s first full-time professional head coach – deliver his much respected and motivational One Team speech.

Focused on “creating an environment so good that everyone wants to be a part of and nobody ever wants to leave”, One Team encapsulates the collaborative leadership model that Sir Clive successfully applied to both the World Cup winning England rugby team and to Team GB at London 2012.

The event is being staged in conjunction with 7IM – the London based investment management business – and will take place at the Hilton Hotel Deansgate.

Sir Clive will be joined by Chris Darbyshire, chief investment officer of 7IM, who is responsible for a team which manages billions of pounds worth of investments every day.

Sir Clive said: “I was honoured to become England’s first full-time professional head coach in 1997. My first objective was to play a style of rugby which would get 70,000 fans at Twickenham off their feet going nuts. With the players we had I knew we could not only challenge the dominant southern hemisphere nations but actually become the world’s number one ranked team. I aimed to do so byapplying thesameprinciples I had developed within my own business.”

James Batt – managing director of BCL Legal – added: “Sir Clive is one of sport’s most respected figures so we are hugely excited about bringing him to Manchester. His approach to leadership is nothing short of inspirational and I’m sure the senior lawyers who listen to him will be able to take his principles of being successful and apply them to their own firms.”
