Staff from the Manchester office of Eversheds last month took over the Barnardo’s store on Deansgate for a day to raise cash for the “Store Wars” campaign.
They went head to head with other Eversheds offices from across the UK to be crowned the ‘Store Wars’ champion for making the most cash. The shop had a Christmas party theme, including a Santa’s Grotto, and was manned by Eversheds staff who tried to sell as much stock as possible to the unsuspecting folk of Manchester. The team was also joined by Rob Norbury who played Riley Costello in Hollyoaks.
There were three categories in the fundraiser:1) biggest percentage increase in a store on the day, 2) most funds raised & 3) most innovative approach. The winners of the first category were from the Manchester office who increased sales by a huge 203%! The team that raised the most funds in total was “Barney’s Bells” from London who raised a total of £2,867.30. And finally, the award for the most innovative approach goes to the Newcastle team for their child centred theme that involved them bringing a mobile petting zoo into the store, with exotic animals including snakes, lizards and a giant millipede. Collectively, over £14,000 has been raised and this will be match funded by the Eversheds Charitable Trust. You can view the photos from the day in the Eversheds Barnado’s gallery.
