Manchester based BCL Legal – one of the leading legal recruitment consultancies outside London, which also has offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol and Reading – has made two strategic additions to its teams in both the Greater Manchester and Yorkshire regions with the appointments of Paul Warburton – formerly a solicitor at Nexus – and Satnaam Kaur as consultants.
Paul, 33, joins BCL’s private practice department after working for 11 years as an insolvency and commercial litigation solicitor in the city. As well as Nexus, Paul has also held positions at Wacks Caller and Hill Dickinson. His new role will be to place legal professional at all levels across both corporate and commercial disciplines in Manchester.
Satnaam, 22, graduated with a degree in Law with Business from the University of Birmingham last year. During her time at university, she took part in various work placements at a number of law firms within their employment, criminal and insurance departments. Following this, she then worked as a supply teacher for eight months specialising in English Literature and Modern History. Satnaam joined BCL Legal in early August and she now focuses on the recruitment of solicitors and paralegals across Yorkshire as well as Lincolnshire and Humberside.
Paul, said; ‘I really enjoyed my time working as a solicitor but I’ve always been attracted to the recruitment market. I’ve had dealings with BCL Legal throughout my career so I can’t wait to get stuck in and use my own knowledge of the legal market to full effect. Greater Manchester and the whole of the North West is a buoyant region so it will be fantastic to grow my network and add real value to the business’
James Batt, director of BCL and head of its private practice team, commented; ‘Despite the downturn, many law firms are still thriving in both regions so it’s great to have Paul and Satnaam on board. Their drive and determination, coupled with their own experiences of the legal sector, will make them valuable members of an already dynamic team.
