BCL Legal’s Tom Fleet gets pedalling on trans-Pennine bike ride with Pinsent Masons
On 12th September, Tom Fleet – who is an in-house consultant at BCL Legal – will be taking part in a charity bike ride organised by law firm Pinsent Masons that may well test his physical prowess like nothing else he’s ever done before!
The gruelling challenge will see Tom and his team of fellow riders pedal some 70 miles – including 4,500ft of uphill climbs – across the Pennines. The aim is for a core group of Pinsent Masons’ cyclists to do the whole route from Aberdeen to London via all its UK offices and they’ll be joined at each stage by enthusiastic local partners, clients and contacts.
The ride is in aid of the firm’s nominated charity – SOS Children’s Villages – and it will also support local charities near each of the firm’s offices. Tom’s leg will start at Ilkley Station following a scenic route and will finish at Pinsent Masons’ offices in Leeds where all the participants will be rewarded with a much deserved BBQ!
Tom commented; “I’m a bit apprehensive as this is longer and much hillier than my usual rides, so I’ll be looking forward to the lunch stop more than usual! They say the afternoon route is mainly downhill, but I’m not convinced.” Fundraising is of course well underway but we’re still looking for donations so please log on to http://www.justgiving.com/PMCycleForLife2012.”
