This week BCL Legal showed three students what it’s like to work in legal recruitment. Millie Lawson from St Patrick’s RC High School, Lauren Jackson from All Saints Catholic College and Catherine Fitzgerald from Lymm Grammar School all joined the team of experienced legal recruiters in Manchester to learn what it’s like to find jobs for candidates and to fill opportunities with the firm’s clients across the north of England.
All three girls are looking at pursuing further education and seemed to enjoy meeting clients, answering the telephone, attending meetings with candidates and shadowing consultants in their day to day activities. They learned about the new online service for graduates www.bcllgraduates.com as well as the www.law-match.co.uk service due to be launched with a major intermediary later this month.
On Wednesday they attended our end of quarter meeting which involves everyone in the organisation getting together to discuss the events of the quarter, the clients we’ve placed with, the candidates we have found opportunities for, the seminars we have run and the new business we have developed as well as the plans for the next quarter. Afterwards we all celebrated with a drink at the bar of Mr Cooper’s at the Midland Hotel.
