A Day in the life of a London Team Administrator

I have worked within recruitment administration for approximately 10 years and have seen the ins and outs of various sectors including accountancy, executive search and legal. I love working within the legal sector, dealing with highly intelligent candidates and clients in the heart of the City.

I have now worked for BCL Legal for almost a year; I support the whole of our London office but play a key role in supporting our fast paced Interim team. My role is challenging and never boring. As we deal with people no two days are ever the same.

The beginning of the week requires me to chase in all of the timesheets and invoices of our active temps, usually there are a couple of discrepancies so I ensure that all the figures are correct so that our accounts team can process the weekly payroll and pay our temps.

Once my payroll duties are completed I can crack on with my other duties which can range from posting adverts on jobs boards to arranging interviews for the consultants I look after. I book meeting rooms for clients and arrange travel for consultants when they have to travel between offices. My day is also filled with other ad hoc duties and I’m becoming a dab hand at IT support!

BCL Legal is great place to work; the firm has a supportive culture and I know that if something doesn’t go right I can seek guidance and support. Aside from the great people we also get treated to some great perks such as an all expenses paid trip to Barcelona this summer; whilst I always give 100% to my job I can’t wait to be sitting round the pool in Barcelona drinking a cocktail on BCL Legal!
