Is a move to Saudi Arabia on the cards?

Being a regional based legal recruitment consultancy, operating from Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Reading and Liverpool, we have some very strong relationships with our clients in the regions. One such client is BAE Systems, and they approached us earlier this year to discuss recruiting at least two additional lawyers to be based on their facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

BAE are considering applications from lawyers at the junior end, from NQ to 4 years PQE. But why would a promising young lawyer want to relocate to Saudi Arabia? This opportunity is clearly very different to most, but we would encourage you to take a look…

For starters, we have previously placed three lawyers from regional firms into the legal team in Saudi Arabia and all have given rave reviews and stayed for far longer than expected. The work is cutting edge and this can be a real boost for your career at an early stage.

The team of four in Riyadh is currently very busy, expecting to get busier, and is looking to take on lawyers wanting to get involved in high quality commercial contracting and corporate M&A work, as well as compliance and regulatory matters, and more general in house issues (e.g. employment, operational and reputational issues). The in house legal team is held in high regard in Saudi Arabia and you will be an integral part of new and ongoing projects at BAE.

You would be based inside the BAE facility, and enjoy the swimming pools, gyms, and shops (as well as schools for those with young families) provided for you there. With a competitive tax free package plus overseas allowance, rent free (and apparently very comfortable) accommodation and a generous holiday entitlement, this may well be a fantastic opportunity for the right person.

If this might be of interest to you or anybody else you know, please give me a call to discuss (0845 241 0933), or simply send your CV to bae@bcllegal.com.
