The Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group celebrate their Christmas Ball at Gorton Monastery

The MTSG Christmas Ball is always the biggest and most anticipated night of the MTSG calendar, and this year was no different. Once Helen Kanczes (DWF), Kelly Charlton (Pannone) and Nina Higman (Berrymans) had been elected as the Ball Representatives for 2013/2014, it became clear that they were keen to make this year a little different. As discussions began and ideas were floated, a decision was made after many years at the Palace Hotel to try something different. Gorton Monastery was unknown to many, but the stunning gothic venue became the perfect setting for the Christmas Ball on 5th December.

As Manchester was bustling with shoppers enjoying another night in the Christmas markets, sampling the hot Gluhwein and Bratwurst, taxis headed to Gorton full of Trainees ready to party in style. The masquerade theme was a lovely touch and provided the glamour and chic such a magnificent venue deserved. With around 250 attendees, the Monastery was packed and atmosphere fantastic. The dance floor was full until the early hours when the Monastery emptied and merry guests headed back into Manchester to continue celebrating at the after party on Deansgate Locks.

The MTSG members this year sure do know how to party, and well and truly celebrated Christmas in style. For those who managed to make it up the next morning, a well needed complementary breakfast was provided by BCL Legal, a fantastic end to a wonderful Christmas Ball for another year. Special thanks to Helen, Kelly and Nina for organising the evening, as well as Raana Afsarpour the Chair, Eleanor Clarke the Sponsorship Representative, and the rest of the MTSG Committee for their support. More comments and pictures of the evening can be found here: http://www.bcllegal.com/the-brief/bcl-legal-news/bcl-legal-sponsors-mtsg-christmas-ball

A very Merry Christmas to all.

Louisa Phillips, Manager, BCL Legal.
