Having spent the last year commuting back and forth to the big smoke on a weekly basis I am beyond happy to be back home and working in the Birmingham, having recently joined the team at BCL Legal.
Don’t get me wrong. London is a thriving, vibrant city and I enjoy spending time there – but I’m a Brummie and I belong here. Plus I must admit I won’t miss the daily tube journeys, squished into a carriage with hundreds of other commuters!
Needless to say there were times growing up I didn’t always feel the same way. Like many, I moved away for University; to study law at Leeds University and completed my training contract in London. I even managed a stint working abroad in Sydney. But each time I find myself back here. So what is it about the Midlands that always pulls me back? Coming back after a year away there is certainly a buzz about the City and surrounding areas, with the fantastic redevelopment of Birmingham New Street “Grand Central”, the new Resorts World complex near Birmingham Airport, the £174m transformation of Wolverhampton City Centre and the regeneration of Telford Town centre all bringing fantastic new business opportunities to the area.
The Midlands market is extremely buoyant at the moment. So whether you are a local candidate looking for commercial corporate or litigation roles in the West Midlands or considering relocation to this area, please feel free to get in touch.
