December

  • Coodes Solicitors has launched a commercial disputes and insolvency team which will be led by litigation partner Verona Cocks.
  • Four chartered legal executives have become associates at Foot Anstey. The firm’s new associates are Jemma Rawie, Sam Dare and Jennifer Martin from the conveyancing team, and Yanthe Richardson from the new homes team.
  • The Family Law Company has welcomed associate solicitor Rebecca Palmer to the firm. Palmer has specialised in family law since qualifying in 2009.
  • DAS Law’s acting head James Christacos has been confirmed as its new permanent managing director.

November

  • Clarke Willmott has expanded its construction team in Bristol with the appointment of partner Michael Craik.
  • WSP Solicitors has appointed Judi Bonham, head of family legal services, as managing partner.
  • Coodes Solicitors partner Louise Southwell has been accredited by Solicitors for the Elderly.
  • Alistair Robertson has qualified with Lester Aldridge in Bournemouth and joins the international private client team.
  • Ellis Jones Solicitors has promoted Paul Kanolik and Ian Butterworth to associate solicitors.
  • Trethowans has appointed Sophie Eales as a banking partner.
  • Wollen Michelmore has appointed a new partner, Chris Linton, as a partner in its private client department.
  • Stephens Scown has appointed Toby Claridge as a partner in its commercial dispute team in Truro. Claridge has more than 20 years’ experience.
  • Veale Wasbrough Vizards has welcomed Ed Rimmell as a commercial partner in Bristol.
  • Recently qualified Harriet Webb has joined the commercial team at Roxburgh Milkins LLP.
  • Jonathan Clifford has joined the dispute resolution department at Lanyon Bowdlers’ Hereford office to head the agricultural team in the county.
  • Stephens Scown has appointed Ian Thomas as a senior associate in the firm’s St Austell office specialising in property litigation.
  • Wards Solicitors has made three appointments. Beth Cudmore has joined the wills, probate and mental capacity team. Katrina Bartlett joins the Bradley Stoke office as a member of the commercial property team. Natalie Forshaw joins the as a member of the disputes team specialising in commercial and civil litigation.

October

  • TLT has appointed David Isaacson as a corporate partner.
  • Steele Raymond has appointed Jenny Rogerson as a partner in its commercial property team. Her expertise covers dealing with the commercial property aspects of many significant corporate transactions.
  • Knights Professional Services Limited has welcomed Stephen Young as a partner and he joins the restructuring and insolvency team. He is experienced in dealing with corporate and personal insolvency issues. Simon Hopewell has also joined and will be head of the banking and finance services team.
  • Steele Raymond has recently appointed Graeme Roberts to join the firm’s commercial property team as a consultant. He is a non-contentious construction law specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the UK and international markets.
  • Tozers Solicitors has announced that four of its trainees – Dan Griffin, Harriet Grimes, Sarah Hansford and Rachael Morley – have recently qualified as solicitors. Also, legal executive Michelle Beckett was admitted as a solicitor and continues to work in the field of claimant medical negligence for the firm.
  • Wollen Michelmore has expanded its property department with the employment of Judith Manser who is a qualified legal executive.

September

  • Osborne Clarke has appointed Peter Clough as head of its Bristol office.
  • The Family Law Company has made three promotions; David Cobern, Donna Hart and Jonathan Madge.
  • Wansbroughs has promoted Cynthia Watts to partner.
  • Stone King has appointed Lee Coley as a partner in its education and charity team.
  • Agricultural specialist Jeremy Woodward has retired as a partner at Nash& Co.
  • Everys Solicitors has welcomed senior conveyancing executive Denise Goulbourn back to the firm.
  • Wollen Michelmore has appointed James Oram as a commercial property solicitor.
  • Bright LLP has appointed Andrew Sewell as head of sales and marketing. They have also appointed Martin Wood as consultant, Philippa McDonald and Robin Moiser Wood.
  • Steele Raymond has appointed Lee Taylor as business development director.
  • Foot Anstey has promoted Duncan Eadie to equity partner. Meanwhile they have appointed Tim Taylor as partner in the planning team.

August

July

  • Foot Anstey has recruited media and IP specialist Neil Parkes as a partner.
  • Thrings LLP has promoted Gemma Featonby to partner. Bill Thomas has also been appointed as a partner in the private property group.
  • Coodes Solicitors partner Richard Pollock has been appointed to the Office of the Public Guardian’s newly revised panel of deputies.
  • Thrings LLP has announced a number of new associate promotions; Carey Cooper in employment, Natalia Sokolov in construction and Matt Smith in property dispute resolution.

  • Foot Anstey has announced that employment partner Karen Bates has joined the firm’s board.
  • Dale Collins has been appointed as a partner in the regulatory practice at Browne Jacobson.
  • Curtis Whiteford Crocker has merged with Browner Milne-Davidson Solicitors to create a new firm Curtis BMD Solicitors in Tavistock. Anne Browner and Alexandra Milne-Davidson, formally of Browner Milne-Davidson remain at the firm.
  • Ian Downing has been appointed as a partner in the family team at GA Solicitors.
  • BLB Solicitors has appointed David Gazzard, Bruce Dyer and Richard Bowater as partners.
  • Beers LLP has promoted James Canning to managing partner. He takes over from Michael Hasler who continues as a senior partner. Sonia Hems has also been promoted to partner.
  • Gillian Kennedy-Smith has been appointed as a senior associate in the private client department at Clarke Willmott.

The new legal directors are; Michelle Biddulph and Tim Jones in clinical negligence, Edward Venmore in property litigation and Stacey Bryant in mental capacity.
