December

  • DWF has promoted Lee Pickett to partner.
  • Muckle LLP has appointed Claire Willcock and Sara Worsick as solicitors in the corporate team.
  • Sarah Farish has joined Short Richardson & Forth as a professional support lawyer and she will assist across all departments.

November

  • Hay & Kilner has expanded its clinical negligence team with the appointment of recently-qualified solicitor Sophie Moss.
  • Jacksons has made four appointments. Louise White and Charlotte Alexander both join the corporate team. Ruth Beeton has also joined to head up its residential conveyancing department. A qualified mediator, Ann Owens joins the family department as a consultant.
  • Swinburne Maddison has appointed three new solicitors. Caroline Simpson and Andrew Foster have joined the commercial property team, whilst Nadine Walton has joined the private client team.
  • The Endeavour Partnership has appointed Alex Smith as a partner in its commercial dispute team.
  • Heather Potts has joined the real estate team at Watson Burton as a solicitor.
  • Vinaya Jigajinni has qualified into to the real estate and commercial property team.
  • Archers Law has appointed Zoe Tansley as head of family and matrimonial. The firm has also appointed two new senior solicitors. Katie Wigham joins the wills, probate and trusts team and solicitor Richard Flounders joins the litigation team.
  • Burnetts Solicitors has recruited two new solicitors into its medical negligence and serious injury team: Kayleigh Nugent and Alix Walker.

October

  • Aberdein Considine has announced its first expansion into England and Wales with the acquisition of Wallers Solicitors. The acquisition is being accompanied by the firm’s first senior appointment in England, former HL Interactive LLP chief executive Matt Wightman.
  • Insurance specialists Paul Hughes and Chris Smith have joined Ward Hadaway as consultants in the personal injury team.
  • Muckle LLP has welcomed three newly-qualified solicitors to the firm on the successful completion of their training contracts. Beth Turner joins the real estate team. Henry Mullen joins the dispute resolution team while Tom Justice joins the commercial and employment team, focusing on the education sector.

September

  • Andrea Dyer has joined Ward Hadaway as a family partner.
  • Hay & Kilner has appointed Jonathan Waters as its managing partner.
  • Short Richardson & Forth has appointed Christine McVay to head up their family law division.
  • Jacksons has appointed paralegals Lisa Harding and Karen Prudhoe to its residential conveyancing team. The family team has appointed solicitor Louisa Bestford. Solicitor Katharine Ayris has joined the wills, trust and probate team as an associate. Emily Robertson has been appointed as a paralegal in the litigation.
  • Smith & Graham has appointed Liz Winchester as a paralegal in the personal injury and medical negligence team. Hannah Gawthorpe, will take up a permanent position in the corporate & commercial team as a solicitor once her training is complete in September 2016.
  • Muckle LLP has appointed Aman Sehgal as a member of its banking and restructuring team.
  • Clarke Mairs has appointed two new solicitors. David Wilson joins as a consultant. Litigation solicitor Aimee Hubbard has also joined the firm.
  • Amie Kavanagh has joined the commercial property department at The Endeavour Partnership. Also joining the legal team at Endeavour is Laura Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick joins the employment team.

August

  • Bond Dickinson has appointed Kevin Robertson as head of its office. Robertson has extensive experience of advising both public and private sector clients.
  • Ward Hadaway has appointed Stefan Bainbridge as a partner and head of the rural land and estates team.
  • Winn Solicitors has appointed David Burn to its complex claims team.
  • James McMillan, a specialist in wills, trusts, probate and powers of attorney, has joined BHP Law.

July

  • DAC Beachcroft has acquired a four-lawyer team specialising in professional indemnity work from DWF including the head of the local team, Helen Ager who joins as a partner.
  • Education and transport specialist Frank Suttie has joined Ward Hadaway as a partner.

May

  • DAC Beachcroft has reappointed David Weatherburn for a second term as regional senior partner.
  • Dean Murray has joined Ward Hadaway as a partner. He has experience on advising companies and organisations in private and public sectors on competition issues.
  • Swinburne Maddison has appointed solicitor Sarah Carr as a member of the corporate team.
  • Solicitor Matthew Holbrook has joined the corporate recovery and insolvency team at Sintons.
  • Winn Solicitors has appointed Clint Milnes as head of change management.
  • Newtons Solicitors has appointed senior employment solicitor Paul Hargreaves, while employment and company commercial solicitor Oliver Hebdon has also joined.
  • Sintons has appointed Jane Meikle as a senior associate in its banking and finance team.
  • Square One Law has expanded its management team with the appointments of experienced lawyer, Christine Fletcher as its senior operations and risk manager and Alice Andreasen as senior business development manager.
  • Commercial litigation solicitor Philip Masters has joined BHP Law.

April

  • Helen Roberts has joined the commercial property team as a senior associate at Burnetts Solicitors.

  • Bond Dickinson has appointed procurement lawyer Kathrine Eddon as legal director in the EU procurement and state aid team.
  • Bridge McFarland has appointed commercial property specialist Kate Seward.
  • Samuel Phillips Law Firm has announced the promotion of three new associates. David Williams is a specialist in residential and commercial property; Angela Carver is an experienced litigator; while Stephen Robinson specialises in wills and probate matters.
  • Jacksons has appointed newly-qualified solicitor Michael Sproates to its commercial litigation team on the completion of his training contract. Kirsten Hurst has been appointed as an assistant solicitor in the family team.
  • Karen Robinson has joined Jacksons as marketing manager.

  • Tilly Bailey & Irvine has launched a family department in the Wynyard office, headed by Gillian Hammond and Helen Hunt.

  • Mike Cattermole has qualified into the wills and probate team at Sweeney Miller.
  • Durham firm EMG Solicitors has appointed Richard Swinbank as head of its new residential conveyancing team service.

  • Punch Robson has announced that Leah Keating has been appointed as constituency member within the Tees Valley Law Society. Keating is a specialist wills and probate solicitor.
  • Swinburne Maddison LLP has appointed Rachel Fletcher. She will be joining the commercial property department.

January

  • Jacksons has announced the launch of its residential conveyancing department in Newcastle with the appointment of solicitor Jane Fiddes who joins as head of the team.
