What is your role?
I’m partner and head of the Commercial Property team at Clough & Willis.

When did you become a Solicitor?
1986. Since then I’ve worked at various firms including Heatons and Pannone. I joined the Clough & Willis team a couple of months ago and my aim is to now develop it into one of the region’s leading names.

Where is the best place to go if you want to find out what is really going on in the office?
The managing partner's office!

What is the best thing about your job?
Satisfaction at doing a job well.

What is the toughest thing about your job?
Time constraints.

What - or who - has been the biggest influence in your career to date?
I spent time working in the City of London so it was great to see how a job is done properly.

What’s the most interesting case you have worked on?
Dealing with property aspects during the purchase of East Midlands Airport.

What has been the greatest achievement in your profession to date?
Being the first person to make full equity in less than six months at Pannone.

Where do you see your firm in five to 10 years?
To maintain its presence in the area and to build the team so we continue growing and evolving.

What are the biggest challenges you will face?
Competition - especially from ABSs.

Which person outside the legal sector do you most admire?
Richard Branson.

What would you have been if you weren’t a lawyer?
A pilot
