Clare studied postgraduate law at Birmingham University and completed her LPC at the College of Law in Birmingham in 2004.  Prior to completing her post graduate legal training, she worked in recruitment, recruiting doctors for hospitals in Saudi Arabia and the UK.

After joining Hammonds (now Squire Patton Boggs) in Birmingham as a trainee solicitor she qualified in the real estate team in 2006.  Clare specialised in regeneration and public sector real estate work and was promoted to senior associate in 2016.  She subsequently worked for Eversheds Sutherland in the residential development team before taking a career break in 2019 to focus on her young family.

During her career break she was a charity trustee for Folio Sutton Coldfield and became co-chair and charity trustee for Maney Hill School Association.  She also studied for her Royal Horticultural Association Level 2 Garden Planning exams and worked as a volunteer gardener at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham.

Clare decided to make the move back into recruitment after her career break and joined BCL Legal in Birmingham in May 2022, focusing on the real estate, construction and planning roles in the East Midlands, East Anglia and the Home Counties initially.
