Risk & Compliance/Client Services Officer

BCL Legal are delighted to be working on this rare opportunity to join this Popular Regional Law Firm as a Risk & Compliance /Client Services Officer based in York. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bolster their Risk and Regulatory Team with an additional Compliance Officer. With significant changes affecting the legal profession, this firm is showing the way in developing innovative compliance and risk management practices and procedures, with one of the most structured and focused teams in Yorkshire. They recruit people who can think independently, engage with colleagues at all levels and help to further integrate risk management processes into the culture of the firm. You will advise and assist stakeholders of the firm on a range of risk -related issues and ensure that such issues are resolved effectively and efficiently in addition to advising on and dealing with client and third party complaints, advising on compliance with the Solicitors Code of Conduct, supporting the Head of Risk, and working with the wider Risk & Compliance team. To be considered for this role, you will need significant experience of working in a Legal risk & compliance role, preferably within a law firm, with excellent written & verbal communication skills, excellent IT skills, strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and a knowledge of both Data Protection law and Financial Conduct Authority legislation. In addition you will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of AML and be an effective trouble-shooter.
