In House Property lawyer
We are currently assisting a housing group with the recruitment of a in-house property lawyer into their team based in Lancashire. The department currently has 3 lawyers and this is an expansion role, to go and work as part of the existing team. The role will suit an experienced property lawyer who is looking to take the next step in their career.
You will join the group's in-house Legal and Governance team,working under the general direction of the Executive Director (Legal) and they are looking for you to have experience in all aspects of property law. Experience within the housing sector and line management of staff will be an advantage for this position. You will be the first point of contact for all property transactions within the team as well as having responsibility for working alongside external solicitors on the Group's legal panel.
You will have access to a broad and varied caseload that could includes matters in any of the following areas, Acquisitions (plots, houses, site and development); development contracts; section 106 agreement acquisitions; JCT and collateral warranty advice; easements, wayleaves and statutory agreements;Disposals (open market/surplus stock, Right to Buy and Right to Acquire, shared ownership; and, leases (granting in and out of the Group, including commercial properties, terminations and variations).
You will also assist in the successful delivery of the group's property law requirements and provide legal advice to the Group and team members, officers in all property law matters, to ensure transactions smoothly as well as providing the Group advice in areas of corporate governance on an ad hoc basis.
