Commercial Litigation Solicitor
This very highly regarded, strong regional practice is looking to recruit an additional experienced commercial dispute resolution solicitor to join the litigation team in central Leeds. The firm appeals to many lawyers as a genuine alternative to the top tiers, because of the high quality of work but notable lack of long hours culture.
This well-known firm in Leeds has an excellent reputation across a number of practice areas, regularly attracting lawyers from the top tier firms. As a regional outfit, it is proud of its knowledge-sharing culture. With 35% of the partners and 75% of the legal directors being female, the culture of the firm offers a degree of flexibility that we don't see as often elsewhere.
The expanding 2-partner team covers a truly diverse range of commercial dispute resolution matters, including the usual range of contractual disputes across a range of sectors, shareholder & partnership disputes, real estate disputes, IT disputes, high level professional negligence on behalf of the full range of solicitors, accountants, architects, financial advisors and surveyors, civil fraud, injunction work and judicial review matters.
They operate across a broad spectrum of sectors, from food & drink, retail and media, to healthcare, manufacturing, energy & built environment, handling all sizes of disputes from multi-million pound commercial disputes through to matters involving private individuals. Clients range across public sector, large corporations, owner-managed businesses and high net worth individuals.
The quality of the work is high, with no institutional or insurance churn. ?multi-million claims are the norm and the team regularly comes up against magic circle firms on the other side.
Their approach is rigorous, fuss-free and down to earth with no jargon and they're a friendly, approachable team.
They have recently recruited but remain very busy and they're keen to hear from strong commercial litigators with around 4 to 8 years' PQE, preferably from a national or strong regional commercial firm. This is a strong player in the Leeds commercial market and they regularly attract lawyers from the top tiers who are looking for the good quality work and competitive salaries, but the work life balance we have come to expect from the mid tier.
With further expansion planned, there is plenty of room for progression in this 2-partner team.
