Learning & Development Manager

This highly regarded Leicestershire law firm is looking to hire a Learning and Development Manager with a specific background in residential conveyancing. It is essential you have solid experience in residential property law in order to be able to knowledgeably develop and deliver a learning and development programme which is specifically focused on conveyancing. Ideally you will have a background in both conveyancing and learning and development however conveyancing lawyers who have been involved in training/coaching who are looking to move into a specialist learning and development role are encouraged to apply.

As the Learning and Development Manager, you will develop and deliver an effective learning and development programme to a multi-office law firm, in line with the business needs as well as the needs of the employees. Working with the HR Business Partner, you will take a strategic approach to the design of the learning and development programme, managing the design and ongoing review of all training in line with legal and compliance issues as well as the business needs. Key responsibilities include:

- Ensure that people are continuously developed to meet growth and capacity plans;
- Ensure that occupational knowledge and competence is maintained by actively engaging in continuous professional development (CPD), keeping up-to-date with legislative changes as well as relevant market information, changes and trends;
- Facilitate the delivery of in house learning across sites as required, including the delivery of online learning sessions where appropriate, to a consistently high standard;
- Create original and engaging learning material, including e-learning where appropriate;
- Ensure that the firm are working in a standardised, consistent manner across the business across the sites through the design and delivery of training sessions;
- Proactively approach the development of people, building excellent working relationships and collaborating with the leadership team;
- Develop a comprehensive skills matrix for all job roles within the business across the sites;
- Working in conjunction with the HR Business Partner to deliver development in line with the Talent and Succession Plan;
- Report on learning and development activities regularly to the leadership team.

To be successful, you will need to have gained considerable experience in residential conveyancing so as to have a credible understanding of the core business.
