Defendant Industrial Disease Paralegal, leading recognised practice, York.

A rare opportunity has arisen to join one of the regions most prestigious law firms. The firm is among the 150 largest law firms in the UK with a growing national presence. Offering the full range of legal services to its clients, specialist areas include commercial, private law and insurance.

The insurance division enjoys a national reputation acting for well-known insurers, loss adjusters and local authorities, it includes specialist units casualty, catastrophic and large loss claims. The occupational disease team provides specialist advice and guidance to businesses and insurers. Many of the claims are complex with matters including exposure, date of knowledge, causation, apportionment, policy cover and limitation across the full range of disease claims; asbestos, respiratory, WRULDs, HAVs, NIHL, stress, cancers, psychiatric injury, carbon monoxide, Legionnaires, toxic shock.

As a paralegal within the industrial disease team you support the senior solicitor and partner on a range of varied disease claims. You will be a paralegal with a minimum of 6 months experience assisting with an industrial disease caseload either from a claimant or defendant firm. You will be organised, be able to demonstrate prioritisation and communicate effectively.
