The Opportunity
The busy and highly regarded Environmental department is looking for a solicitor with experience of acting on a wide range of property and corporate transaction types and advising on a wide range of stand-alone environmental law issues, to join the team in Sheffield. Contentious experience is advantageous although not essential. Main duties will be to;

· Advise on strategies for environmental risk management in a variety of transactions/circumstances
· Undertake legal due diligence and provide focussed reporting to the client on the environmental risks and propose effective mitigation of such risks
· Provide drafting on environmental issues in transactional documents including sale and purchase agreements, development agreements, share purchase agreements, leases etc. and undertake subsequent negotiations of these provisions
· Draft ancillary environmental documents for transactions e.g. reliance letters relating to environmental reports, site investigation licences
· Advise on appointment of environmental consultants and appropriate terms and conditions
· Advise on the use of environmental insurance and undertake negotiations with the insurer (via a broker) on bespoke environmental insurance policies

You will also advise clients directly on a range of stand-alone environmental issues to include asbestos, environmental permitting, waste and reuse of materials and contaminated land. Strengths in other areas are highly welcome. The ability to contribute to the Environment teams business development activities is essential. You will have the ability to add value and raise the departments profile through various means.

Requirements
You will be a solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE within the field. Solicitors operating at a senior level with 9 years experience will ideally have a client following.
