Newly created opportunity to join Flogas based in Leicester as the dedicated Commercial and Compliance Counsel for Flogas UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial lawyer to join a growing business and have a varied and impactful role.
Flogas is a leading LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) supplier with more than 30 years' experience providing reliable, affordable energy solutions to domestic customers across the UK.
Flogas was founded in 1984 and has since evolved to become one of Europe's leading LPG suppliers, with a presence in Britain, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands. Flogas is also part of FTSE 100-listed DCC Energy - a large Irish company with an annual turnover of £11 billion.
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial lawyer to join Flogas as the dedicated Legal and Compliance Counsel for the UK business. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will work closely with the Flogas UK and the wider group and be responsible for providing commercial legal advice across a wide range of areas including commercial, contractual, corporate, projects, disputes and compliance and regulatory law.
This is likely to cover areas such as:
· Legal Advice: A wide range of commercial, contractual, corporate and disputes. This will include drafting and negotiating all types of contracts as well as advising senior and operational management in Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Property and Finance. You will also take a lead on corporate acquisitions and disposals with external assistance when required.
· Compliance: Ensuring the implementation of compliance standards of the Group, in particular antitrust, anti-corruption, anti-money-laundering and trading standards taking into account the local environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to move to a growing and successful business where you will have a varied role and be able to make an impact and shape the legal function. With this comes the need for a highly commercial and down to earth lawyer to assist the company with its commercial endeavours.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a strong commercial/corporate law background (with at least 5 years of broad professional experience) part of which has been gained in-house.
