Sales and Home Ownership Paralegal- Exeter

THE FIRM

From investment and management of existing assets to major development and regeneration schemes, about 60% of its lawyers practice full-time in the sector across a wide range of disciplines including investment, finance, development, construction, asset management, planning, environmental and dispute resolution. It is ranked by The Lawyer as having one of the UK's Top 15 Real Estate practices overall.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join its top tier Housing & Regeneration team in Exeter.

THE ROLE
As an experienced paralegal, you're main responsibilities to include;
- Advising private developers and registered providers on the sale of new build properties;
- Routine property and conveyancing transactions, to include; Small disposals and acquisitions; land swap, negotiation of deeds of grant of rights, easements and way leaves, substation leases and transfers, dealing with adoption agreements for roads, sewers, and open spaces, assisting with completions, Land Registry applications and requisitions, SDLT returns;
- Assist solicitors and partners on property and developments transactions for housing associations and developers;
- Providing excellent and timely client service, building and maintaining effective client relationships;
- Ensuring files are managed in compliance with the firm's procedures, including Lexcel.

REQUIREMENTS
The firm operates a paralegal career structure which sets out the competencies it expects of those at this level, and beyond.
Specific experience required includes:
- GDL/LPC Graduate ideally with an advanced elective in property law.
- Experience of handling conveyancing matter is essential, ideally working within real estate in private practice
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files, independently where appropriate;
- Strong client focus and a commitment to service delivery; and
- Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines;
- An ability to operate with minimum supervision with a strong attention to detail , working in a methodical and logical manner
- You'll be driven and enthusiastic, flexible and have a can do attitude.
