Debt and Asset Finance Lawyer

Rare chance for a junior litigation lawyer to join the specialist debt recover and asset finance team at a leading law firm in Birmingham.

The firm offers a broad range of legal services, and particularly stands out for its expertise across sectors including, but not limited to: energy, education, banking and financial services, investment funds, healthcare and advanced manufacturing.

The team

The firm's Debt and Asset Finance team offers significant debt recovery expertise and acts for a number of large national companies.

The strength and depth of experience is reflected in the team's loyal clients who they have worked with for 25 years or more. In addition the team continues to regularly win new work with many new referrals coming from existing clients.

The work

The team pride themselves on delivering a fast, efficient and cost-effective bulk debt recovery service using both the County Court Bulk Centre (Money Claims Online) and the County Court Money Claims Centre (manual claims) - speeding up the debt collection process for its clients.

The role

As part of planned growth and to meet the demands of new clients, the team are now looking for a Legal Executive / NQ-2yr PQE Solicitor to join their busy Debt and Asset Finance team in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team that acts for a number of well-known household names and develop bespoke industry-specific legal skills, by assisting partners and solicitors within the team with both contentious and non- contentious case.

This is a fantastic role with huge potential for development and growth working closely with clients and getting involved in business development. The day to day role will include;

assisting the head of the team and other senior members to produce high quality legal services to clients on a broad range of asset finance work
handling a caseload of both contentious and non-contentious, complex and less-complex matters
dealing with clients and third parties in a professional manner, maintaining close and regular contact, as required
assisting with monthly billing, all client specific billing and other related financial administration
carrying out legal research in relation to liability disputes, case law and technical areas of insurance law
assisting and supervising more junior fee earners within the team
overseeing and managing the management information requirements for a key client
actively getting involved in business development activities, both individually and as part of a team

The candidate

This role would suit a hardworking, outgoing and motivated junior lawyer or legal executive with previous relevant experience in debt recovery and asset finance matters.
Candidates will need to demonstrate strong communication, drafting, negotiation, organisation and research skills.
