A leading national firm are looking to strengthen their London employment team

Role Responsibility

Once you are in the role of Associate you will work on a high quality but varied caseload, working closely with the partners and other team members. The work is split as follows:

· employment tribunal claims (almost exclusively acting for Respondents)
· helping employers manage issues in the workplace such as disciplinaries, grievances, restructuring and redundancies
· providing employment law support in corporate deals and outsourcing contracts, contract drafting and client training
· enforcement of post termination restrictive covenants
· advice on industrial relations and collective issues
· drafting of contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks, settlement agreements and other employment related documentation
· business development including training and seminars.
· In addition there may be opportunity within this role to play a part in a significant and long running litigation project of national importance, as part of an established project team already in place.
The Ideal Candidate
The employees of this employment team are talented people, distinguished by technical excellence, with a willingness to embrace team working and a passion for client service. You will be able to demonstrate a similar supportive, flexible and driven ethos and will have accumulated the following experience and skills:
· have strong client handling skills and be able to instil confidence in clients, including experienced in-house employment solicitors, and to work with leading counsel
· have an enthusiasm for employment law and the ability to give advice in a commercial context
· have strong project management skills, ideally in relation to complex litigation or class actions
· enjoy working in a team-based environment
· have an excellent academic and professional background, ideally with training / experience at a Top 50 or city law firm
· strong on detail and on managing, mastering and assimilating wide ranging and complex facts
· have experience of advising large private sector employers.
