Sole Legal Counsel

I'm working with a well-known British institution based in Liverpool to find a Sole Legal Counsel. The role can be offered on either a full-time or 4 day per week basis and they operate a hybrid working policy. The role will report to the CEO and regulatory matters and compliance will sit with a separate, specialist team. Responsibilities of the role will include: · Responsibility for all legal aspects of the company's day-to-day business. · Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (including software licence agreements, development agreements, agency agreements, payment processing, NDAs, service support agreements, outsourcing, marketing, sponsorship and endorsement arrangements) and internal legal documentation and policies. · Provide advice in relation to IP matters and liaise with the relevant individuals within the company to ensure that the integrity of its brands is protected. · Work closely with the finance and marketing teams to provide advice regarding managing legal risk and exercising sound legal judgment. · Handle company secretarial matters including all Companies House obligations. · Work closely with the Director of Compliance with regards to regulatory responsibilities and requirements for the business. This role requires a lawyer with at least 3 years PQE on a full time basis, or a more experienced lawyer on a part-time basis. In-house experience is preferred as this is a sole role.
