Are you a lawyer focusing on both contentious and non-contentious aspects of inquests? My client, a global organisation offering outsourced services to household name clients, requires a lawyer with 2-4 PQE and experience of advocacy and involvement in investigations relating to injuries and deaths resulting in inquests. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel this is a new role adding to the existing UK legal team of 22.
The Role:
- Advising on medium and low risk inquests following deaths in custody, or in the community following release;
- Assist in advising on high-risk inquests following deaths in custody, or in the community following release;
- Assist in undertaking legally privileged investigations following high risk deaths in custody and other serious incidents;
- Advising on disputes, litigation and inquests;
- Representing the business at inquests; and
- Appointment of external solicitors and counsel.
You:
- 2- 4 years' post qualified experience including current experience working on inquests;
- Experienced gained either in private practice or in-house, perhaps for a regulatory body;
- Excellent academics and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, given the nature of the work it is important that you can inspire confidence.
