- Sole Counsel
5th February 2020
A leisure business involved with corporate travel and events are recruiting their first sole legal counsel to be based in Manchester with travel to London and internationally. This role could be recruited on a 4 or 5 days a week basis as long as travel is possible for the successful lawyer.
You will be responsible for the legal and compliance function of this global business, areas you will cover will include;
- Reviewing the business's current contract and adding/improving to these as required.
- Maintenance of this new contract database
- Providing commercial advice on a range of issues in and around corporate travel and music events
- Managing the relationship with current external lawyers and working to reduce spend in this area
This role could work for a mid-level lawyer on a full time basis or a more senior lawyer who wishes to work part-time. As this is a sole legal counsel role it is important that you are able to work autonomously and manage external solicitors and that you are happy to get involved in the detail. The expectation is that you will want to get to know the business well and that will involve travel to London, the US and Australia.
This is a company enjoying huge growth which has resulted in the need for an in-house lawyer. This also means you will have the opportunity to mould he service provided to the business, put in place new processes and procedures and potentially grow a team. This is all within a really interesting industry sector and a business with longstanding relationships.
