Director - Corporate - leading regional firm - Midlands An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (8+ PQE) to join an established West Midlands based firm as a Director in its Corporate Department. The firm has ambitious growth plans and this hire is part of its on-going expansion. The firm is looking for an ambitious and motivated individual, who has a solid background in corporate transactions, strong management skills and the ability to help lead and grow a team in the delivery of high financial performance whilst maintaining excellent client relationships. This is a firm with a strong presence across the Midlands and the role can be carried out from any of its Midlands offices and also part remote. The opportunity To focus on implementing a clear strategy to develop the work of the firm's well regarded corporate department in line with ambitious growth plans: - Business development strategy - People development - Financial projections - Operational aspects The Candidate The successful Corporate Director will: - Already have a strong reputation as an experienced corporate lawyer in the market ideally with client relationships to follow - Be an effective communicator between the board and the department - Provide feedback to the board from the department - Be accountable to the Board for the Department's financial performance and profitability - Guide the department in delivering high performance working, tailored to the specific discipline with a clear emphasis on fostering effective and engaging work practices - Take overall responsibility for and adherence to the firm's risk and compliance procedures at a departmental level - Work collaboratively to foster effective team working with all other departments in line with the firm's business and growth plans - Demonstrate leadership, discipline and accountability The successful candidate will have substantial experience in corporate transactions from either a well regarded regional firm or otherwise a national/international firm. They will be talented and ambitious, bringing a balance of excellent technical legal skills coupled with the ability to develop and maintain new client relationships and generate work streams for the team.
