BCL Legal is excited to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate to join a well-established Housing team in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work on high-quality transactions in the home ownership sector, focusing on site set-up, the sale of shared ownership and outright sales, as well as after-sale transactions. The position also provides an opportunity to get involved in a variety of real estate work, including dealings with Housing Associations, developers, and other providers.
The Role:
As a Senior Associate in the Housing team, you will:
· Advise clients on all aspects of Home Ownership Transactions, including new build sales (both outright and shared ownership), set-ups, and after-sale matters (e.g., RTB/RTA, lease extensions, auction/private treaty disposals).
· Provide comprehensive support on other related real estate work, including deeds of variation and other associated transactions.
· Ensure compliance with professional duties and internal firm procedures.
· Take an active role in business development initiatives and participate in client relationship management.
· Supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development and the overall success of the team.
· Manage your own caseload while actively contributing to team growth and the firm's future development.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
· Qualification as a solicitor or CILEx, with a strong background in housing law.
· Extensive knowledge of working with Housing Associations on affordable home ownership products, along with a good understanding of related real estate work.
· Some experience working with developers and other providers is desirable but not essential.
· The ability to manage a busy caseload while supporting and mentoring junior team members.
· Strong communication skills and a professional approach to deadlines and client relationships.
· A proactive attitude to business development and a desire to grow the Home Ownership team.
