A well-regarded regional firm is looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join their residential property team, based in Birmingham. THE ROLE As a Conveyancing Assistant in the team, you will manage a variety of tasks to assist a Conveyancing Fee Earner in managing their caseload. You will manage tasks at all stages of the conveyancing process, working on a variety of sales and purchases for residential properties. Your work will include: - Opening, updating and closing matter files and recording client data, using the firm's electronic case management system - Taking initial enquiries and passing details to fee earners - Carrying out all identity and AML checks when opening a file - Using workflow templates to create and issue correspondence, documents, and forms - Preparing contract packs - Carrying out searches - Ordering redemption statements - Exchanging contracts and organising completions - Preparing bills and the financial documentation - Post completion work, including preparation of Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns, drafting applications to the Land Registry, deeds schedules, etc - Being the point of contact for internal and external callers, taking accurate messages and passing them on to the relevant fee earner as soon as possible - Updating clients and agents with efficiency and politeness throughout the process - Carrying out copying, printing and scanning as required ABOUT YOU - You will have at least 3 years of experience working in a busy residential conveyancing department - You will be experienced in working on tasks at all stages of the conveyancing process from start to finish - You will have experience of using the land registry portal, HMRC portal and LMS - You will have experience of managing a busy workload - You will ideally have experience of using Tikit and BigHand FURTHER INFORMATION - Salary up to £24,000.00 - 35 hours per week - Hybrid working (3 days in the office) - 24 days annual leave + bank holidays - 4% pension contributions - Life assurance 4x salary - Employee assistance programme - Discounted conveyancing If you are interested in this opportunity and you have the pre-requisite experience, please send your up-to-date CV to amandayoung@bcllegal.com.
