Pensions Solicitor (NQ+) role with first rate pensions team at international firm in Birmingham. Part-time and flexible working available.
This leading international law firm is recruiting for an ambitious and enthusiastic pensions solicitor to join their incredibly successful pensions team in Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and motivated junior pensions lawyer to undertake a broad spectrum of the best quality pensions work for a varied and enviable client base with excellent training and support.
The team set themselves apart from the competition by ensuring their lawyers receive excellent training and support from the outset of their careers and for creating a friendly, productive and collegiate working environment.
This role will involve working on all aspects of pensions work for clients including; employers, the Regulator, trustees, insurance companies, NEST and the PPF. Day to day tasks will encompass;
Advising clients on how to achieve their strategic objectives;
Drafting scheme documentation (including CARE schemes and deeds of amendment);
Advice on legislative changes including tax simplification issues and the Pensions Bill;
Working on pension scheme mergers and scheme wind ups;
Advising on and delivering scheme changes (e.g. reducing accrual or increasing member contributions);
Advice on investment issues, such as investment management agreements;
Dealing with TUPE issues and providing corporate support;
Advice on pensions investment law; and
Working on pensions disputes and litigation.
The work is of the highest quality with the team regularly involved in leading UK pensions cases and have also advised on cutting edge pensions work and developing new legislation., This role will provide fantastic scope to gain exposure to a full range of pensions work as well as the opportunity to manage client relationships from the outset.
The successful candidate will have recently qualified or worked post qualification at a well regarded firm and gained exposure to pensions or a mixed pensions and employment law caseload. They will also be able to demonstrate excellent technical and communication skills together with a genuine interest in working in pensions law. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and bright solicitor looking to work at a large Birmingham firm and specialise in pensions law.
