Our client is an autonomous and fast-growing subsidiary of a multinational technology business with operations in over 190 countries. It is a leading provider of critical infrastructure and it's client base includes a who's who of large tech companies, multinational blue-chip organisations and large public sector bodies.
Role - Senior Legal Counsel (Construction):
As Senior Legal Counsel (Construction) you will be part of our clients' dedicated EMEA Legal & Governance team. You will be the subject matter expert for construction matters, and you'll have responsibility for the execution of all construction related agreements in EMEA (i.e. UK, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa.
Working alongside key stakeholders and legal colleagues, and supported by external counsel as required, specific duties will include: advising the Construction/Delivery department on bidding processes; negotiating, drafting and executing all construction related agreements; managing external legal consultants (if/when required); advising the project team on all construction law related topics; drafting and adapting template agreements to up-to-date legal requirements; conducting internal legal training; and, generally supporting the business by providing sounds legal and risk advice.
About you:
The role of Senior Legal Counsel (Construction) is intended to support future business expansion, and our client is seeking an experienced solicitor with demonstrable post-qualified experience (in-house or in a law firm) focusing on construction law matters. Experience of large scale construction projects and standard form contracts, especially FIDIC, is preferred.
Individuals with a background in telecoms infrastructure, data centres or similar asset classes are are particularly appealing. Existing in-house experience is not essential.
Due to the multi-jurisdictional aspect of the role, my client is looking for applicants who are able to travel within the UK and Europe from time to time.
Location:
Our client has dedicated offices in London however this role can be worked remotely from almost anywhere in the UK. Home or hybrid working is available as required.
