In-house Legal Counsel

Company: Our client is a unique organisation delivering high quality design, manufacture, transport, storage and consultancy solutions to a worldwide customer base. The company deals with sensitive and high risk products on a daily basis, and it's expertise is sought by governments and private companies across the globe. Role - In-house Legal Counsel: Reporting to the Head of Legal and Senior Legal Counsel, the purpose of this role is to provide high quality and commercially focused legal advice to the organisation, a role that will entail working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors. As In-house Legal Counsel you will work on a varied commercial caseload, to include: commercial contract and public procurement work; discussions with commercial stakeholders, customers and suppliers; instructing and managing external advisors; and handling other varied operational legal matters such as IP, compliance, employment, competition, litigation and insurance. In addition, you will keep abreast of good legal practice and developments in all relevant changes in law, advising on consequent impact to operations and recommending and implementing training for employees where relevant. About you: You must be a qualified Solicitor with some demonstrable post qualification experience handling commercial and contractual matters. Ideally applicants will have circa 1-4 year's PQE although those with more/less may be considered. Existing in-house experience is preferred and is advantageous, however this role could also suit someone making their first move in-house. Key to such a move is a pragmatic and practical approach, and a willingness to throw yourself into learning about the company and industry. Location: Our client's offices are located in Cheshire and they offer a hybrid and flexible working environment. This role is commutable from Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Warrington and surrounds.
