To support the General Counsel as the company continues to grow and expand, there is now a requirement for a Corporate / Company Commercial Solicitor to join the in-house legal team. This is one of those rare roles which combines genuine corporate work with a varied and extensive general commercial caseload.
Specific duties of the role are likely to include: transactional support and advice on JVs and any M&A activity; providing legal support to corporate development and corporate financing activity; providing commercial advice on day to day matters; supporting on corporate governance and regulatory responsibilities; helping put in place policies, procedures and precedents; and generally helping the GC on ad hoc legal and commercial matters.
It is expected that the Corporate / Company Commercial Solicitor will have at least 4 years' PQE of corporate and/or company commercial law. You will ideally have trained and/or worked at a notable regional or national commercial law firm, or equivalent in-house team, and you should be comfortable and capable of providing pragmatic, succinct and commercial sound advice to stakeholders at every level. Experience of social care work is desirably but not essential.
