Company: My Greater Manchester client is an established and financially secure commercial business responsible for managing assets worth approximately £500m. The business is commercially run on behalf of a grant making charitable organisation, and the revenue generated is split equally between the charity, to be used for good causes, and for reinvestment and development of the business and its assets Due to the unique structure of this business, which requires it to meet the regulatory requirements of the Charities Commission, as well as the usual Companies Act standards, my client is looking for an experienced Company Secretary to join the team as Head of Company Secretariat / Company Secretary. The role is based in Greater Manchester and the office is commutable from Manchester, Cheshire, South Lancashire and surrounds. An element of home and flexible working is on offer, and they may also consider a 4 day working week. Role: The Head of Company Secretariat / Company Secretary will have responsibility for high quality company secretarial support and advice to the Trustee Board, the Executive Committee and the group companies. You will be the point of liaison between the Trustee and the Executive Committee, and you will have oversight and involvement in compliance, corporate governance, policies and procedures, monitoring and reporting, statutory filings and other ad-hoc support for the Trustees as required. This position offers a unique opportunity to work for a charitable organisation without fully moving into the Third Sector. You will have involvement across the charitable and commercial aspects of the organisation, and you will have a high-degree of autonomy, responsibility and input. About you: Ideally you will be an established Company Secretary or Assistant / Deputy CoSec. You should possess demonstrable experience in company secretariat, technical corporate and governance knowledge, and you should be a "self-starter" capable of strategic and independent thinking, and operational delivery, within a small, agile workforce.
