- Interim Legal Counsel

Our FTSE listed client seeks to recruit an Interim In-house Counsel to cover a maternity leave due to start in mid-May.
Applications are actively encouraged by solicitors with existing in-house experience, and applicants will ideally be comfortable commuting to Lancashire once a week, or a couple of times each month. The remainder of the week can be worked remotely from home or another office location.
Our client is a global engineering business designing, developing, selling and maintaining high-technology products used around the globe. It is a leading international business and a major employer in the UK, and it has sizeable operations in the North West and other regions.
Role - Interim Legal Counsel
The in-house legal function is a long-established and well regarded department that is truly embedded within the businesses they support.
As part of a first class, collaborative and friendly team, as Interim Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for a varied in-house role covering everything from bids/tenders and contractual requirements, to leading on legal-focussed matters including data protection, litigation/disputes, IP and ad hoc projects. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in legal, compliance, sales and other departments, and as a true legal business partner you will have a high degree of influence and input with key stakeholders on critical business issues.
The role is anticipated to start mid-May, although there is an element of flex either way, and the duration of the contract is 12 months.
It is anticipated that the Interim Legal Counsel will be a UK qualified solicitor with strong commercial nous gained over a number of years working in the legal profession. You will ideally have existing in-house experience and you should be comfortable working on UK and international legal matters.
Applicants based in North West England - Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cumbria - are a good fit for the office location however our client is open to applications from Interim Legal Counsel living further afield.
This role is available to applicants seeking either a 4 or 5 day working week.
