OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE SOLICITOR - BRISTOL A leading, national firm are seeking an Occupational Disease Solicitor to join their expert team in Bristol. THE FIRM A multi-award winning Firm with a strong, national reputation. They pride themselves on their "human touch" approach to the way they work with their clients and support their teams and the work they do has been recognised in the awards they've won. They are a top firm with a friendly and supportive working environment. THE TEAM The Work Place Injury team deals with occupational disease claims, mostly asbestos related disease claims (mainly mesothelioma). They handle a high proportion of litigated cases, many of which are dealt with on an expedited basis in the High Court. The team don't just deal with compensation claims, they also work closely with clients and their families to ensure all of their support needs are met. It's a unique, bespoke approach that really makes a difference to people whose lives have been turned upside down by an occupational illness. THE ROLE You'll have the opportunity to get involved in an interesting and diverse caseload, right from the beginning you'll play a key part in securing justice for clients and making a real difference in their lives. You'll have the confidence to hit the ground-running and have the ability to work independently on litigated cases. Given the nature of the work you'll work with vulnerable clients, and your role will be highly rewarding, but you'll have to be resilient and calm whilst also putting your client's needs first at all times. This is ideally a Bristol based role however, the Firm are keen to accommodate what's best for you, so they can be flexible on location and are open to remote working. As a part of this team you will: - Take instructions from clients and give legal advice, including obtaining evidence and, where appropriate, pursuing litigation, to achieve appropriate resolutions for the clients. - Developing relationships with nurses, other medical professionals and victim support groups to provide an exceptional client experience and generate new cases. - Manage own caseload, while also assisting the Partner and senior team members on high value cases. - Review cases and other relevant matters with supervisor to ensure quality legal advice is provided. REQUIREMENTS - Experience in Personal Injury multi-track litigation experience, ideally in asbestos claims(Solicitor or Legal Executive experience) but not essential. - Strong appetite for business development. - Proven experience of handling your own cases, including your own litigated cases. - A clear enthusiasm for this area of law and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for your clients whilst working under pressure. - Operate independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and develop other team members. - An ability to work with empathy and integrity.
