Medical Negligence Paralegal - Chelmsford
Responsibilities
- Providing clients with high quality, proactive legal advice, which meets client needs.
- Responsible for assisting Senior lawyers with complex cases with the possibility of managing own caseload under supervision as the role develops.
- Delivering legal services in a manner which is cost-efficient for both the client and the firm.
- Enhancing the firm's reputation and position within the community by developing a professional reputation, participating in professional and community activities to support the firm.
- Assisting prospective and existing clients with complaints about medical treatment and inquests.
- Assisting with screening of new enquiries.
-Assisting lawyers with medical negligence cases as required.
- Assisting with drafting statements for factual witnesses.
- Requesting medical records.
- Sorting, indexing and paginating medical records.
- Drafting and completing various documents, including Laser forms, Court Forms as appropriate.
- Instructing Counsel.
- Attending and preparing notes of conferences with Counsel.
- Drafting Protocol Letter of Claims.
Requirements
- Is passionate and enthusiastic about medical negligence
- Minimum AAB at A-Level
- Holds either a law degree or a qualifying degree and has completed the GDL 1 year conversion course.
- Delivers high quality legal services on own initiative.
- Ideally has a proven track record in medical negligence work and a wide range of experience.
