As a result of this on-going investment and the progression of significant projects we are seeking a Legal Counsel with at least 5 years PQE to join our in-house Legal team.
Severn Trent Water is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our sizeable team of legal experts in a diverse and complex environment.
You will be responsible for leading and advising on high-profile multi-million pound projects across a range of legal issues including commercial contracts, construction, procurement, bids, tenders, IT/IS projects and infrastructure projects. The ideal lawyer will have at least 5 PQE and come from a Commercial and/or Construction background. This is a commercial role with c30% construction related content.
You will have:
· a grounding in commercial or construction law
· experience of working with a multi-disciplined business to deliver large projects reporting to senior stakeholders
· the ability to work with other complex organisations who co-deliver projects
· The willingness to advise on diverse issues including procurement, research and development, strategy, regulatory and compliance matters
· Experience of implementing legal processes to improve project outcomes
As an individual you will need strong communication and negotiations skills. You will have the ability to prioritise your work and effectively push back when appropriate. You will need strong influencing and collaboration skills. It is paramount that you are a commercially minded lawyer understanding the true meaning of business partnering.
You will be a confident individual with an absolute willingness to venture outside your expertise and comfort zone.
This role would suit a commercially minded lawyer who is either currently working in private practice or in-house. An excellent package is on offer including competitive base salary, car allowance, an industry leading pension, a very generous holiday allowance and bonus scheme.
